The sugar in our organic sugar soap acts as a natural humectant, pulls moisture back into the skin—keeps your skin hydrated, super-soft and smooth—gives the soap a wonderful caramel color and aroma! Blended with organic Shikakai powder, that conditions skin & hair as it cleanses. Low ph—mild on scalp & hair! Dr. Bronner’s coconut-olive-hemp-jojoba castile soap base creates a luxurious lather to nourish-cleanse-moisturize! Sweet life!

Ingredients Good for Body and Earth

Organic fair trade sugar leaves skin hydrated and smooth; gives our soaps their caramel color and aroma and keeps them from clogging. Fairly traded to support farmers, producers and their communities!

Organic Shikakai imparts mild smoothness to the soap’s lather, gently cleanses skin and conditions hair. Shikakai comes from the seed pods of the small south asian tree acacia concinna and has been used in india for hair and body care for over 1,000 years.

Organic white grape juice has complex sugars that nourish the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Together with organic sugar, it acts as a humectant and helps skin cells retain moisture.

Organic fair trade olive oil gives our soaps their velvety smoothness. To honor the peace the olive tree symbolizes, we source our oil from both Palestinian and Israeli growers: Canaan fair trade, founded by Palestinians who support peaceful coexistence and see profitable olive farming as a way of improving Palestinians’ economic situation; the Jewish-israeli Strauss family; and fair trade Sindyanna, run by Jewish and Arab women in Israel.

Organic fair trade coconut oil creates a rich cleansing lather. Our coconut oil comes from Dr. Bronner’s sister companies Serendipol (in Sri Lanka) & Serendicoco (in Samoa)—where regenerative organic practices keep soil fertile, family farmers are paid a fair price, and a fair trade fund is used for community-led projects to improve health, sanitation, education and infrastructure for rural communities.

Organic hemp oil is in all our soaps! Hemp oil mirrors our skin’s natural oils—its perfect balance of essential fatty acids makes our soaps smoother, less drying. One of the earth’s most versatile and sustainable crops—hemp thrives in many climates, grows quickly, attracts pollinators and has the potential to sequester carbon. Dr. Bronner's has worked tirelessly to make hemp cultivation legal in the United States.

Organic fair trade palm kernel oil comes from sustainable small farms in Ecuador. No rainforest habitat or wildlife is harmed, and no new deforestation occurs due to oil palm farming—rather care is taken to conserve and restore the local ecosystem.

Organic face, body and hair care in one bottle

Our fair trade & organic sugar soaps are excellent for washing face, body and hair—place by your sink or in the shower! The organic shikakai powder and organic sugar in this soap not only make it an ideal facial cleanser, but also perfect for washing hair. When using any of our soaps to wash your hair, we recommend you follow up with a lightly acidic conditioning rinse, such as our own organic hair rinse (diluted apple cider vinegar works too!). 

Warnings

Keep out of eyes: wash with water 15 min. and consult a physician if irritation persists. Do not refill with dr. bronner’s 18-in-1 pure-castile liquid soaps, which can clog the dispenser and spurt soap. In this formula, the shikakai extracted in organic natural sugars also keeps the pump from clogging. Don't drink soap!
